Bemidji Skate Park?

Posted by blukattt on October 2nd, 2007

The other day we got a good flyer in at the shop, so I’m going to pass the message along, and get the word out.

Support Bemidji’s Skate Park

We are on a mission to build a free public skate/bike/in-line park in Bemidji, MN. The City of Bemidji has one-time money to spend, but wants proof that it will be used.

If you would like to support our effort for a free skatepark, you can go to our website and answer a few questions. The more people we get to fill out this survey, the better our new park.

Bemidji Skate Park!

Please pass this link on to as many people as you can.

I’ve been waiting for someone to step up and get a skatepark idea moving for several years now, in fact ever since we started carrying skate stuff. I applaud these people’s actions, and encourage everyone that reads this, even if you don’t skate, to go to this link and voice your support.

Ethan Haas is…

Posted by blukattt on August 11th, 2007

I don’t know, I went here and got stuck on the home page. I mean, if you’ve ever seen a site that interactive, please share it! Not only is it a chat window, but then it’s a 2-d world as well. lol

I found a site that has some phrases to type into the chat to turn your character into other things like horses, a mutant camel, a felon, etc.

UPDATE:

I found a couple more sites that pertain to the enigma that is Ethan Haas:

Ethan Haas Was Right - A flash site that has you figuring out 5 different puzzles.

Jayisgames - A site that has some hints to the Ethan Haas Was Right alternative reality game.

No escape from stupidity

Posted by blukattt on August 9th, 2007

I hate people; specifically idiots that find vandalism “Huh huh…cool…”

Last night I was so proud of myself. I had gotten done playing WoW and made it to bed before 3am (A personal record for me). Around 4:30, one of the girls woke me up telling me to go check outside because she heard glass breaking outside.

And the award for best role model goes to…

Posted by blukattt on August 1st, 2007

…not Britney Spears.

I never write 2 posts in one day, but it seems the headlines are teeming with people that need a large opera singer dropped on them.

It seems that Ms. Spears has once again assaulted a photographer, this time her rabid pitbull of a bodyguard stepped in. Read more here

If you want more reasons to hate Britney:
Allegedly tried to have son’s teeth whitened
Fires Assistant as a scapegoat
OK! magazine shoot not OK
Can someone put a cork in her already?
Does anyone really believe the “method-acting” excuse?
Tribute to dead aunt, or just mad as a March hare?

This concludes my rant on Britney; let’s hope Lohan or Hilton do something else stupid so I can continue to have something to poke fun at. Or better yet, perhaps this current Blonde Brigade can recruit new members, maybe Hillary Duff, or Britney’s sister Jamie-Lynn.

Nicole Richie announces her pregnancy

Posted by blukattt on August 1st, 2007

OMG

Okay, enough with the signs of the Apocalypse already, we get it! It’s bad enough we have been plagued with these blonde, anorexic, crackhead, partying, I-come-from -a-rich-family-so-I-don’t-know-what-responsibility-is types, but now Tuesday Nicole Richie confirmed in an interview that she is in fact pregnant.
Another shocker? She also said she was 4 months in already. What?! Don’t you think that being that far along, and given that she weighs in at like 15 pounds, you’d notice it? (I’m envisioning a toothpick skewering an olive)

Well, at any rate the spawn is on it’s way, so make sure you get those emergency bunkers dug, and pick up a fresh batch of cyanide pills.

Lionel Richie must be proud…or disgraced; I forget which means which.

I heard throught the grapevine that it’s F1_Error’s birthday today, so I hunted down some choice batman comic excerpts, since I know you’re a die hard fan.

R.I.P. Mr. Wizard

Posted by blukattt on June 13th, 2007

Don Herbert, who may be better known as TV’s “Mr. Wizard”, died at age 89 in his suburban Bell Canyon home on Tuesday.

His shows, which included “Watch Mr. Wizard” and “Mr. Wizard’s World”, spanned over 30 years. In both, he taught kids how to analyze, measure, and predict outcomes scientifically, using household objects, in a way that made it fun and educational at the same time.

Thank you Mr. Wizard, for teaching so many of us about science, you will be missed.

What do you call a lawyer at the bottom of the sea?

Posted by blukattt on May 31st, 2007

Derrrrr...

“I’m a very well-educated, successful, intelligent person. This is insane to me, that I have an armed guard outside my door, when I’ve cooperated with everything other than the whole solitary-confinement-in-Italy thing.”

What a jerk. Here’s why:

A man who may have exposed passengers and crew members on two trans-Atlantic flights earlier this month to a highly drug-resistant form of tuberculosis knew he was infected, and had been advised by health officials not to travel overseas. It was reported that he had known about the TB since January, when an xray from an unrelated doctor visit had shown a small growth in one of his lungs

The man was identified as Andrew Speaker, a 31-year-old personal injury lawyer who returned last week from his wedding and honeymoon trip through Italy, the Greek isles and other spots in Europe. His new father-in-law, Robert C. Cooksey, is a
CDC microbiologist whose specialty is TB and other bacteria.

Save Internet Radio!

Posted by blukattt on May 15th, 2007

URGENT CALL TO ACTION

Once again, internet radio is being unfairly targeted with extremely high music royalty fees: fees that are so high, if not changed will put most internet broadcasters out of business.

WASHINGTON D.C. — Legislation introduced by Senators Ron Wyden (D-OR) and Sam Brownback (R-KA) today would save Internet radio from a recent royalty hike that threatens to bankrupt the industry. The Internet Radio Equality Act would vacate a Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) decision to increase fees webcasters pay to play music online by a devastating 300 to 1200 percent. Companion legislation (H.R. 2060) introduced in the House of Representatives on April 26th, by Congressman Jay Inslee (D-WA) and Don Manzullo (R- IL), has already garnered the support of more than 60 cosponsors.  Continue reading Save Internet Radio!
