We have chats and graphs to back us up, So Fuck Off.

Looks geeky, don’t it?

Well it should, it’s NERO (New England Roleplaying Organization), which is a LARP (Live Action RolePlaying). In a nutshell, it is acting out Dungeons & Dragons, or a club that can’t get enough of Renaissance Faires.

…wanna know a secret?

I used to belong to the local chapter of NERO (There are chapters all across the U.S.), and I enjoyed it a lot. I had a few gripes though; such as when I go to the various NERO websites, I see well made and well thought out costumes such as:

Meanwhile, some of our members had some cool costumes, many just wore a black shirt, and some rudiment face makeup, or a half step better, some minor alteration to an outfit and called it good.

The main gripe I had? There were NO women in our chapter, save for the coordinator’s wife, and a girl that showed up once. Now before you say it’s because it’s too geeky or something similar, lemme stop you and say I did my homework; there are many females out there LARPing, such as:

I’m not sure what I’m driving at here, guess I just had to crawl a little out of the geek closet.

Up next, maybe I’ll rant about my unhealthy Magic: the Gathering obsession

Something to say?
