Metal Lives
Posted by Lady Diva on February 3rd, 2008I’m pleased to announce that metal is not dead! A kid and his dad were in the store today. The kid was twelve. I know this because they were looking at a sticker that had a skull with a 13 in it. The kid said he should get it because that’s what he was going to be. His dad laughed and said you’re not thirteen yet.
Anyway that’s not what this is all about. This is what it’s about - here we have a twelve year old, about to turn thirteen and become a teenager, wandering around the store with his dad. Metallica’s “Some Kind of Monster” is playing, and the kid is singing along. Then he tells his dad that’s his favorite song. Right on. Then I notice that the kid is wearing a Led Zepplin t-shirt. And it looks like a good fit, a youth size perhaps. Cool. Dad is also wearing a cool t-shirt by the way, two skeleton girls sitting back to back. They look sorta like the mud flap girls. Then Dad and Son were laughing together while they perused the rude t-shirts.
There is hope for the future after all.
